For the Expo Venice manifestation, the famous buliding “Vega” started the reconstruction of the important hub located in the waterfront of Marghera.
The upper square that gives access to all the restoration services was made of concrete blocks, which looked fine but also very flat and colorless. The idea of the architects Carlo and Nicola Pavan, from the 120g Studio was to use AsphaltCoat from IMPREXA to give a new chromatic touch. They did so physically “pulling out” about 20% of the blocks and coloring them with three different shades from the AsphaltCoat physically (Sapphire, Topaz and Coral); then they replaced the colored plates randomly to get a “harlequin” style. This simple and cheap trick allowed to revive and make more cheerful the square, which is often used for lunch breaks by employees working at VEGA.
Large investments are not always necessary to make our spaces more livable. Congratulations go the architects from the PAVAN studio for the great project and thank you for using our resin AsphaltCoat, in such a smart way!
